The entire village of Auchtermuchty was used during the filming of of Dr Finlay from 1990 to 1994.
It starred David Rintoul, Ian Bannen and Annette Crosbie.
The tearoom was actually called “Cairns Confectioners” in the series and had a few tables and chairs and a counter selling cakes and ice cream.
The local Post Office was turned into a pub called, “The Flying Dutchman”, a joke by the crew aimed at Production designer Marius van der Werff.
Visitors often ask which was the doctors’ house. It’s actually in Houston, Renfrewshire, about ten miles south of Glasgow!
