Neal Wins World Porridge Making Championship!

Winner of the world title and prestigious Golden Spurtle Trophy Neal Robertson from the Tannochbrae Tearoom, Auchtermuchty Neal believes the secret of his perfect porridge is the water from the hills above Auchtermuchty and the use of the Spon rather than the traditional spurtle.

The Tannochbrae Tearoom

The award winning Tannochbrae Tearoom, established 1994, is a small independently run tearoom situated on the High Street of the Royal Burgh of Auchtermuchty.

Used in the filming of Scottish Television’s “Dr Finlay”, the tearoom reflects the style of post-war Britain in its decor and memorabilia.

During the day we serve light meals and delicious home baking. In the evening we serve intimate, candlelit suppers available by advance booking.
